Mayday Mayday!
So things on my journey are not going so well. Don't get me wrong, I have been working hard. Really hard. Okay maybe I ate a cinnamon roll for breakfast, but other days, I have been doing really well. I've been working my butt off at the gym, but not literally. My butt should seriously be coming off with how hard I have been working, but it's not. What is the deal? Why can't I lose weight? I am SO FRUSTRATED! However, I am becoming stronger, I feel healthier and my cardiovascular system is most definitely improving. I guess I could look on the bright side and be grateful for those things, but all I really want to do right now is complain that I'm still chunky and I want to be a hot mama in my bathing suit in T minus 15 days. Grrrr.

Beck- tell me what you are doing...if you want my two cents. If not then just know tha you are beeeeeeuuuuutiful :)
Maybe you're gaining muscle so the scale's not changing, but you're losing fat? I don't know, but that could be! I think it's hard to lose weight once you hit that plateau where your body's comfortable, so then if you do want to lose it, you have to be REALLY strict with your eating habits as well as the exercise! I struggle with good eating habits too (I actually had a cinnamon roll for breakfast yesterday too). But anyway, I really do think you're beautiful and skinny and you'll look hot in your bathing suit in 2 weeks!
I can never seem to lose the weight either. I have finally lost 2 lbs. I am just trying REALLY hard to watch my calories and exercise. But that sounds like what you are doing too. If you find the secret, let me know... cause I need help too.
Patience it will happen and I bet you look great'!
Honey, you're being too hard on yourself. You are most definitely NOT "chunky" as you so lovingly put it. One bit of advice I can offer though, is to drink LOTS of water. The number of ounces of water that your body needs is half your weight - so 100 lbs. = 50 oz. of water/day. And that's just the beginning. If you are working out, you need to add almost half of that again. And if you have some caffeine, then you need more water. If your pee is yellow, at all, you aren't drinking enough water. It's hard to get used to at first, but once you give your body what it really needs, then you can tell when you aren't giving it enough and it's hard to not drink that much. Invest in a 25 oz. stainless steel water bottle and give yourself a goal of bottles/day.
Also, start cutting most salt out now (you need some though especially if you're working out), since it will just make you retain water. Come two weeks, you shouldn't be holding onto any extra water weight.
Lastly, don't stress about it. When your brain senses stress in the body, it's going to be more reluctant to let go of stored calories. It's primal instinct is to hold onto those pounds for periods where food may be more scarce. If you're stressed, it's only going to interpret that as being stressed for survival, not for whatever else it might be (ie. losing weight, work, etc.) Why do you think we humans eat when we're stressed, or sad, or angry?
Buck up, buckaroo - even if you don't appreciate your body, that man of yours does, and he is gonna love seeing it on the beach! Don't let this get in your way of having fun and enjoying yourself, and most importantly, getting that much needed R and R that you need! Love you!
